"Archaic writing in stone, thought by the stars, shaped by the planets. Sounds for animals and wind, poetry
for the deep sea and for those who cross it, swing on space. The reality of dreams, now more than ever, is
near. We, like copper wire, conductors between the universe and the dreamlike dimension"

Being an orchestra. Multiplicity of intentions that become one action, one voice; space for sharing and
multiplication of the (political!) force of sound. Nostalgia for eras never lived (or maybe yes?),
unquenchable thirst for the present, anxiety for the future. The European Galactic Orchestra of Gabriele
Mitelli was born to gather the scattered threads of a long and uneven path (artistic but above all human),
to bring together around the sacred fire of jazz the thousand dancing souls of a life in music. As if to want
to recompose the mosaic of an infinite succession of encounters, of electrocutions, the trumpet player
from Brescia decided that it was time to try to embrace with a single glance the vastness of the territories
crossed. A gathering call to which a handful of fearless improvisers from every corner of the continent
(France, Sweden, England, Italy, Holland) responded, summoned for a journey beyond the borders of the
sky and beyond generations who, following the interplanetary routes traced by indispensable collective
experiences such as those of Art Ens.emble of Chicago, ICP, Italian Instabile and Fire! Orchestra (close, very
close to touch), arrives to glide on the Saturn’s rings in the company of Duke Ellington, Misha Mengelberg
and Sun Ra. Giancarlo Nino Locatelli (who, in addition to playing the clarinet, together with Mitelli took care
of the transition from project to reality during writing and arranging), Sebi Tramontana (trombone), Luca
Tilli (cello), Alexander Hawkins (piano), Pierre Borel (saxophones), Cristophe Rocher (clarinet), John
Edwards (double bass), Cristiano Calcagnile (drums), Tobias Delius (saxophones), Per Åke Holmlander
(tuba), Christelle Sery (guitar): the crew is on board, the countdown has begun. Destination unknown.
Because it’s not the destination that matters, but the journey.
